Sadness: The 2014 F1 Race in New York Has Been Cancelled

Of course, we're sure that Ecclestone is already thinking about 2015.

We were really excited to see F1 cars ripping aroung a course made of public roads just outside of New York City in New Jersey come the 2014 season, but now we're wallowing in disappointment. Due to an inability of the race organizers to come up with the $100 Million race fee. Yeah, Bernie Ecclestone, F1's ruling dictator (complete with Emperor Nero haircut), charges $100 mil just for the rights to hold a race. 

Caesar Ecclestone has made it clear in the past that he really, really wants to hold a race within view of the NY skyline, so we're still holding out some hope for 2015...or 2016...or 2017...
