Most of the time, we just don't quite get Motor Trend—we think it's probably a generational thing—but once every year for the last few years, we love the venerable motoring magazine. The "World's Greatest Drag Race" is an awesome way to get a bunch of lust-worthy cars togther on an airstrip to see just how fast they really are when lined up against each other.
This year, the racers were:
Aston Martin Vanquish
Audi R8 V10 Plus
Bentley Continental GT Speed Le Mans Edition Woolf Barnato (we recognized those wheels and that red leather)
BMW M6 Coupe
Ford Focus ST
Jaguar F-Type V8 S
Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wagon
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series
Nissan GT-R Track
Porsche 911 Carrera 4S
Porsche Cayman S
SRT Viper
The Nissan GT-R has been the benchmark each year, and made a strong showing as always, but what we were most impressed with was the fact that the seven seat wagon beat about two-thirds of the competition. Yeah, the station wagon just annihilated both Porsches.
