Right now, we're eagerly awaiting the Alfa Romeo 4C, the tiny, relatively affordable supercar from the legendary Italian marque. We're also getting excited for upcoming Giulia sedan, which is set to go up against the BMW 3-Series and Cadillac ATS, and will share a platform with SRT's Barracuda resurrection.
Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne and the rest of Alfa's staff have noticed that these rear driven cars get us all tingly in our dangling valuables, and have committed to making only rear-driven cars. Yes, BMW might be planning 23 insanely redundant cars on one front driven platform, but Alfa Romeo is taking up the mantle of being the rear wheel drive company.
Expect to see the 4C within a year, the Giulia sedan (and wagon?) in 2015, an E-Class-sized Alfetta sedan and wagon in 2016, and twin SUVs in 2017 and 2018. Of course, this is a schedule from Alfa Romeo, a brand that has taken unreliability to heart so much even the business plans are unreliable, so take this with a two pound box of kosher salt.
