Donovan McNabb wants Robert Griffin III to fall back for a few months. In a recent interview with the Washington Post, McNabb revealed that he thinks RGIII is doing "too much" right now and that it could hurt him down the line.

"It's too much right now; it's just too much," he said. "I get some of the things he's doing to draw attention to himself: the adidas commercials, going out and enjoying the life of a young, famous NFL quarterback. I understand RG has a lot of stuff going on. But if you're coming off ACL surgery, you don't need to be having a press conference at OTAs. Every week? Really? It becomes a circus, a sideshow. It takes away from the focus of what those sessions are supposed to be about: the team."

McNabb does have a point. RGIII is the only Redskins player we've really heard from this spring—and he might not even play in Week 1 of the 2013-14 NFL season. But at the same time, RGIII is really the only Redskins player that anyone wants to hear from right now. 'Skins fans—and NFL fans as a whole—want to know how he's progressing on the field. So we don't see anything wrong with him holding press conferences at OTAs and capitalizing off his new-found fame by doing commercials. And we don't expect either of those things to stop simply because of McNabb's thoughts on them.
