Audi's Sport Quattro Concept May Finally Go to Production with Over 650 Horsepower

Yeah, it's rising from the dead as a beastly supercar.

Remember the Audi Quattro Concept from the 2010 Paris Motor Show? It was angular, overtly aggressive, steeped in the memory of the greatest Audi ever made, and was supposed to be headed to production in a limited run of 200-500 cars. Alas, that never happened, as the top brass at Audi could never quite figure out where it would sit in the line up since it was, performance wise, so similar to the similarly sized RS5.

Now it's being rumored that the Quattro concept will be at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year as a part of the original quattro's 30th anniversary celebration. However, this time it will be rocking the twin-turbo V8 from the RS7 for an output of around 650 horsepower, as well as a reduced weight due to extensive use of carbon fiber, magnesium, and aluminum, magnetic ride suspension, and carbon ceramic brakes. All of this gear will push the price of a production model up to around $150,000
