Burning Without Polluting: Audi Opened Its First E-Gas Plant

Remember the A3 G-Tron?

Do we all remember the Audi A3 G-Tron concept for earlier this year? It utilized a form of synthetic natural gas that is created by drawing carbon out of the air and turning it back into fuel. The result is a carbon neutral combustion engine, and we think it's brilliant. Since the production of E-Gas is entirely solar powered, it means that driving the A3 G-Tron leaves absolutely zero carbon footprint.

Now the world's first E-Gas, as it's called, plant has opened in Werlte, Germany and more are planned. The car will launch next year, and we like to think the world will be a better place for it.

Now we just have to ask, will there be an R8 G-Tron?
