After Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday night, Joe Flacco was named the MVP of the game and likely earned himself a HUGE contract in the process. But, as it turns out, the Ravens QB was thisclose to becoming the biggest bonehead in Super Bowl history.

In Sound FX segment that the NFL just released that documents what was going on on the Ravens sideline in the final few minutes of the big game, Flacco can be heard very clearly telling his offensive teammates to run out onto the field and tackle 49ers return man Ted Ginn if he managed to get past the Ravens kick coverage on the final play of the game.

"If he starts to break it, go tackle him," Flacco tells his teammates. "If he busts it for some reason, go tackle him. I don't know the ruling, but…"

But...Well, but that would have been THE WORST MOVE IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY! Had anyone actually listened to Flacco—or if Flacco himself had run out onto the field and impeded Ginn's ability to score an obvious touchdown—a little-used NFL rule called the Palpably Unfair Act could have been put into place and granted the Niners a game-winning score. Thankfully for Flacco, Ginn didn't break a long run, though, and his idiotic plan didn't have to be used. It's good thing, too. Because, if anyone had run onto the field and followed Flacco's advice, he'd probably be a free agent right now instead of a Super Bowl hero.
