For the last two days, the Alabama football team been holed up at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami preparing for tonight's BCS National Championship Game with absolutely no distractions. No parents. No girlfriends. And, most importantly, no Skip Bayless! Um, wait…what?!
That's right. 'Bama head coach Nick Saban didn't want his players to be distracted at all during their trip to South Beach. So, in addition to installing a curfew and essentially confining his players to their hotel rooms, he also reportedly called the Fontainebleau ahead of time and told the hotel that he wanted to block ESPN from every single TV in his players' hotel rooms. He didn't want his players to spend all day Monday hearing about how they are expected to destroy Notre Dame tonight to win their second straight BCS Championship.
So, will it work? Guess we'll see in a few hours when the BCS title game kicks off.
