Local San Francisco Bay Area activist and nonprofit consultant, Jonathan Frieman, was ticketed Oct. 2 for driving on a Marin County carpool lane during restricted hours without a passenger on-board. When the issuing officer pulled him over, Frieman showed him his incorporation papers, claiming that because corporations are legally considered people, according to the U.S. Supreme Court's 2010 "Citizens United", he shouldn't have to pay the $478 fine. The officer failed to see the logic to his brilliant argument and Frieman is now taking the case to court, with a hearing scheduled for next Monday afternoon.
