Will Honda's halo car ever return? The brand's luxury arm, Acura, has bumbled through a few attempts to properly relaunch the fabled flagship NSX. This week, however, a ray of hope has emerged in Detroit.
The latest NSX supercar shows promise, a sport-hybrid powertrain, and a rather sharp interior. Experiments in engine configuration have been a hindrance in the development of the car. In the current iteration, an inventive three-motor hybrid that will drive two to the front axel and one on the rear will allow for aggressive torque vectoring and greatly improved steering. This looks like the answer, and a clear indication that a finalized NSX is (at least) on the precipice of production.
