Remember BALCO? If not, it was the Bay Area company run by Victor Conti in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s that allegedly supplied everyone from Barry Bonds to "Sugar" Shane Mosley with performance-enhancing drugs. And now, it sounds like the Miami New Times has discovered what is already being dubbed BALCO East. It's a recently-shuttered "anti-aging" clinic in Miami called Biogenesis that stands accused of distributing PEDs to a number of different pro athletes, including baseball players like Melky Cabrera, Bartolo Colon, Nelson Cruz, Gio Gonzalez, and, most notably, Alex Rodriguez. The MNT knows this because several former Biogenesis employees came forward recently after Bosch closed the clinic and disappeared and gave them handwritten notes (see the thumbs gallery to see one) indicating that those athletes were tied to the company.

You can check out the findings of the entire MNT investigation over here (it's a very long, but very worthwhile read). But, the craziest thing to come out of the story is that Dr. Tony Bosch—the founder of Biogenesis and one of the doctors who was connected to Manny Ramirez a few years ago when he tested positive for PEDs—was allegedly supplying A-Rod with PEDs as recently as last year. That would obviously be a huge deal, given the fact that A-Rod has admitted to using PEDs in the past but said that he'd only used them in the early 2000s, and it could impact his future with the Yankees.

Like we said, you really need to dig into the MNT article yourself to learn about all the intricacies of the Biogenesis scandal. But, it's a story that's definitely going to be in the news for the next few weeks as we learn more about what kind of operation Dr. Bosch was running down in Miami.
