Mazda Is Taking a Diesel Mazda6 to Grand-AM/ALMS

Three things that we like, all in one place.

The new Mazda6 looks stunning, and is going to be offered in the US with a diesel engine, which is fantastic. We love VW's TDIs, but they currently have no competition in the American market. Modern turbo-diesels burn more cleanly than gasoline, and offer hybrid-like fuel economy without the increase in carbon emissions during production, or the mediocre driving dynamics. Diesels are awesome.

In order to prove to America that diesel can be awesome, Mazda is putting its car racing in whatever the ALMS/Grand-Am merger will be called. We can't wait to see this thing in action.
