Hey New Yorkers, remember Jimmy McMillan and his catchphrase "the rent is too damn high"? If this isn't ringing any bells, here's a reminder. Anyway, with the NHL going through a long lockout, most of the league's players are looking for work elsewhere, including Sidney Crosby. Unfortunately, he's having a costly problem when it comes to competing overseas: the cost of insuring Crosby is too damn high!

Over the last season and a half, Crosby has dealt with numerous concussion-related issues, which limited him to playing in only 22 games. Still, these red flags didn't stop the Pittsburgh Penguins from signing the 25-year-old center to a 12-year, $104 million contract that begins in 2013. Needless to say, the Penguins need to take the necessary precautions to protect their investment and that is why, according to his agent Pat Brisson, it could cost as much as $400,000 per month to insure Crosby.

With that expensive price tag, most European teams and charity game organizers are unable to afford Crosby's services. So, you gotta believe that no one wants this NHL lockout to end more than Sidney.
