Back in my high school days, the Defender 90 was the undisputed coolest car in the world. The rugged truck was an object of desire, envy, lust…everything one might regularly attribute to a Ferrari.
Viewing the DC100 Concept, those memories (and wants) flood back. Naturally then, news that the U.S. market will have the next generation defender on lots is exciting. It may not look like the DC100 (pictured here), which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Land Rover could benefit from a retro appeal that has a less design-driven vibe and privileges the boxy, adventure-ready silhouette that made me swoon in my teens.
