Chevrolet has reported a strong end to August, announcing that sales of the the electric hybrid Volt will hit 2,500. That's a record for the model, and comes just as Chevy announced plans to idle the the Hamtramck, Michigan factory that builds them to prepare for transition to the 2013 edition. Californians buy a third of all Volts, their love for the car is followed by Michigan.
