Andres Iniesta is having a great year, so far. After dominating the 2012 Euro Championship a couple months back, he was named the UEFA Euro 2012 Player of the Tournament. He beat out his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo for the 2012 UEFA Player of the Year today. This comes as a bit of a surprise, but the 28-year old does steer Barcelona's ship and helped Spain capture back-to-back Euro titles sandwiching their World Cup win in 2010. Out of 53 voters, Iniesta received 19, while Messi and Ronaldo received 17 a piece.

After hearing the good news the Spanish infielder was quoted as saying, "I feel very privileged to be part of this generation of Spanish footballers."

Did the voters get it right?
