The BMW Active Hybrid 3 is going to be putting out a very impressive 340hp and 332 ft-lbs of torque. That's enough to rocket the sedan to 60mph in just 5.3 seconds and make Prius owners cry themselves to sleep in the middle of the day, while eating chocolate ice cream and fried chicken.
The Active Hybrid 3 gets over 40mpg on the Euro cycle, but that could mean just about anything, given the totally different results that the EPA will no doubt get. It looks like hybridization is finally making for cars that don't suck. No word on whether or not this will be offered in the US market yet, though.
