This 1999 GMC truck had 51,000 miles on it when former restaurant worker Michael Jacober purchased the used vehicle from a police auction for $6,000. The truck, formerly used to haul off criminals has since then found a new purpose, as a grilled cheese food truck. You can find the Morris Grilled Cheese truck cruising through DUMBO, Chelsea, and Midtown slinging things like their $10 Croque Monsieur melt, a smoked ham, pickled spring onion and provolone concoction. The truck's manager Ben Latham and head chef Chris Austin push about 150 sandwiches a day and even offer their take on a tradtional NYC staple, the egg cream.
