In recent media sessions, NY Knicks interim head coach Mike Woodson has been hinting that fan-favorite, Jeremy Lin may be benched in favor of veteran Baron Davis, if he doesn't improve his play. Woodson stated that Lin is basically a rookie who's still “in a learning stage" and that former coach (and Knicks legend) Red Holzman “taught me that rookies were to sit and listen and learn." This is a dramatic turn of events to say the least. The Linsanity that gripped a city starving for good basketball and eventually became a global phenomenon is now just an afterthought.

The Knicks interim head coach intends to focus his offensive strategy on his two stars, Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire (something Mike D'Antoni seemed reluctant to do). With D'Antoni out of the picture, Lin's turnovers aren't going to be tolerated as much. Woodson is an old-school coach from the coaching tree of Larry Brown and just like D'Antoni lived and died by Lin in order to save his job, Woody is going to live and die by his two stars to keep his as per management's request.

And now the wait begins for the Knicks fans' next savior.
