He's a pitching anomaly. He's 49 years old, he's been in the majors for 24 seasons, and he missed all of last season due to Tommy John surgery. Yet, against all logic, Jamie Moyer just signed a deal with the Colorado Rockies' minor league team. Moyer, who has played for the Cubs, Rangers, Cardinals, Orioles, Red Sox, Mariners, and Phillies, turned in a 9-9 record in 2010 with a 4.84 ERA. The lefty has 267 career wins and is 95 strikeouts from reaching 2,500 in his career. Considering there is practically no risk and plenty of potential veteran leadership, this seems like an excellent move for a pretty young Rockies squad.
