A year after debuting its first-ever East Coast community store, Nike is opening the doors on a new location in the Motor City.

Today marks the opening of Nike's Detroit Community Store. Situated in downtown Detroit, this location will continue to carry out the goals established by previous stores. First, at least 80 percent of employees will live within five miles of the store, making it a true community effort. They'll also have the opportunity to give back by volunteering in the area.

The Nike Detroit Community Store will also feature interior design and products inspired by the Motor City, as well as licensed merch from local teams like the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the Michigan State Spartans.

As if this wasn't already dope enough, the Detroit Community Store will also provide $40,000 in annual grants to local non-profit organizations.

Head on down to 1261 Woodward Avenue beginning today to check it out for yourself.
