NBA Players Used to Ask Ray Allen for Sneakers Every Game

"Guys were asking me if they could get the pair on my feet."

The NBA's all-time three-point leader says players used to hound him for his exclusive Jordan sneakers on a nightly basis.

In a conversation with Slam, Ray Allen talked about what it was like being one of the earliest Jordan Brand endorsers. "When I started wearing Retros in Seattle and Boston, that's all other players ever talked about," Allen said.

According to Allen, he would get hit up for his Js literally every night. "Guys were asking me if they could get a pair, if I could send a pair to their locker room, if they could get the pair on my feet," the 10-time NBA All-Star said.

But instead of getting annoyed about being pestered all the time, Allen said it was actually an honor because it felt like players were looking at him in the same way that he once saw Michael Jordan himself.
