One week removed from donating a record-breaking $400M to Stanford University, Nike co-founder and chairman Phil Knight can now add another accolade to his list—the richest person in sports.

Forbes just released its 2016 world's billionaires rankings, which places Knight at no. 24 overall with a net worth of $24.4B. And although Forbes places Knight in the 'Fashion and Retail' category, his work is also very much centered in the sporting industry, making him the richest person involved with sports worldwide.

Additionally, ESPN's Darren Rovell points out that Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is the richest team owner and that Knight was actually close to buying the Clippers in 1980, which you can read more about here.
