GAME CHANGER.

While the competition between Nike, adidas, and Under Armour continues to intensify, the Swoosh just made a power play that no one saw coming.

According to Nice Kicks, Nike has inked a deal with Dave Dombrow, former Under Armour Senior Vice President of Design. For readers who are unfamiliar, Dombrow played a key role in the design of Stephen Curry's sneakers, the same sneakers that helped the brand make $1.17 billion in the fourth quarter of 2015 alone. Dombrow also assisted with signature models for Cam Newton and the brand's Charge RC, Speedform, and Spine franchises.

As Nice Kicks' Nick DePaula reports, Dombrow joined Under Armour in 2010 but actually got his start in footwear design under Nike from 2000 to 2003. Dombrow later joined Puma before landing with Under Armour, and now DePaula says that Dombrow will take a year off while his non-compete clause expires before coming back on board with Nike in 2017.

Stay tuned, it sounds like things are about to get really interesting.
