In 2002, atmos made sneaker history by working with Nike on the very first Air Max collaboration. The "Safari" colorway went on to become one of the most sought after shoes in the Air Max series, earning a cult following from runner enthusiasts and hypebeasts alike. Unfortunately, the O.G. pairs are largely unwearable at this point, but Nike's serving up a brand new retro next week.

Ahead of the launch, Overkill put together this comparison of the original 2002 collaboration and the 2016 retro. In the images, you'll not only be able to see the obvious differences like the materials and outsole, but you'll also get a better idea of how the shapes and colors match up side-by-side.

Check out the comparison below and look for the "Safari" Air Max 1 to be released via Nike's The Draw raffle on Monday, March 14 for $150.
