Crimes being committed for sneakers is unfortunately nothing new, but the latest report involves stakes much higher than a pair of retro Air Jordans. A pair of sneakers signed by six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt were stolen from a car in southern Hertfordshire, England.

According to RT, the owner purchased the white, red, and blue signed Pumas for "a significant amount of money" at a charity auction held by Sport for Freedom. The framed sneakers, which included a certificate of authenticity and a picture of Bolt, were stolen when thieves broke into a grey BMW in the St. Albans area of southern Hertfordshire.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time a signed pair of Bolt's sneakers were stolen. Back in 2014, another pair of his running spikes were stolen by an overly excited fan in London. While authorities are working to find the stolen sneakers, let this be a reminder to collectors that you can never be too cautious with your kicks.
