The legendary Run-D.M.C. DJ Jam Master Jay would have been 51 years old today, and to celebrate his legacy, adidas made a special Superstar model in his honor. We got initial looks at this sneaker last year, and today is the day that some lucky people get their hands on them. Revolt TV took to Twitter to share some images on the sneakers, which revealed that their was a pair set aside for Barack Obama.
Considering how big of a hip-hop fan the president is, it makes sense that adidas would include him on this list. Some of the other notable people getting pairs are Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Jon Wexler, and Rev Run. Adidas has a stronger relationship with the hip-hop community than ever before, and Jam Master Jay was one of the artists who helped open up that door.
No word on whether or not these will release to the public, but all indications are pointing towards a friends and family only drop.
