As many of you know, a sneaker goes through quite a few changes before its final version.
With a tweet earlier this morning, Ronnie Fieg shared an image of the original sample of his "Volcano" ASICS GEL-Lyte V. If you compare these to the final production ones, you can see the shoe underwent both material and colorway changes, the most notable of which was the decision to swap blue hits with pink and to replace the perforated suede with mesh. Seeing part of the process and what could've been is something sneakerheads truly appreciate and considering the Volcanos instantly sold out, Fieg probably would've still had a winner on his hands if he had opted to release the OGs.
