October 21 is Back to the Future Day, and Nike has at least one sneaker release confirmed to honor the movie series. Of course, most people are hoping for a Nike Mag release, but the red and white Bruin also played a part in Back to the Future II. It was the sneaker Marty McFly was wearing before he got the Mags when he traveled to Oct. 21, 2015, and Nike is set to drop them on that exact date.

Aside from its role in the movie, the Bruin also has a significant place the history of Nike. Debuting in 1972, it was the brand's first basketball sneaker, paving the way for what would become one of Nike's most popular and lucrative product lines. The original Bruin made waves in 1972 with its suede upper and autoclave outsoles, and this 2015 version gives it material upgrades that will make for a more comfortable and durable wear. NikeLab has replaced the suede upper with leather, and the autoclave outsole with cupsoles, which weren't added to Nike basketball sneakers until the late 1970s. Additionally, Nike has removed branding from the tongue and heel tab. There is no doubt that a Mag release will be extremely difficult to get, but at least Nike is giving us a shot to get another pair of McFly's sneakers.

The white and red colorway is set to release at NikeLab locations on Oct. 21, 2015.
