From roller coasters to Mexican drug lords, there's been a recent boom in unexpected sneaker moments, but this one just might take the top spot as the greatest surprise flex.
The above image, which was posted on Reddit, shows a high school senior posing in his cap and gown while proudly holding up a pair of "Pirate Black" Yeezy Boost 350s.
While it's possible that the photo has been doctored, this wouldn't be the first time that sneakers have been highlighted in the pages of a school's yearbook.
When speaking to Photoshop experts on staff, one said, "I'd guess it's either real or he the took photo as if he was holding them then 'shopped them in. The shoe looks kind of fake, but it could just be retouching work."
Either way, it's proof that sneakers truly are status symbols, even when not on your feet.
