The Nike Air Monarch is undoubtedly one of the brand's most uncool sneakers, but it's also one of the best-sellers. Just like that, the Monarch has become a cult phenomenon. Sneakerheads have adopted them in an ironic fashion, with the hopes of trolling everyone into liking the Monarch. One of them has even gone as far as adding one of the most-hyped colorways to this silhouette in the form of a custom job.

Instagram user Geared Toward Gear, whose real name is Avery Ginsberg, decided to transform a pair of "white/navy" Monarchs into what amounts to a "Tiffany" or "Diamond" color scheme, first seen on the Nike SB Dunk Low and more recently on the ASICS Gel Saga.

It's easy to label this as a move to get attention, but Ginsberg assures that he's going to wear this pair into the ground. He brings up a point, though: Is the Monarch a clean sneaker that's merely disliked because it's worn by dads?
