Although common perception may be that the Yeezy jumped over the Jumpman, it's not quite that simple. In order to better understand what's really bringing in the cash, Highsnobiety has once again tapped data specialists Campless and illustrator Dan Freebairn to compile a few easy-to-read infographics that analyze the most valuable sneakers on eBay for Quarter 2 of 2015.
As you'll see, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 is indeed one of the priciest pairs, but its $844 average is eclipsed by the "OVO" Air Jordan X, which brings in an average of more than four times as much at a whopping $4,050.
There are a few factors at play here, but the biggest variable is rarity. Due to the the "OVO" Jordan X's extremely limited nature, its prices have been determined mostly by resellers as they're the ones in control of the market. Of course, this could shift drastically upon the sneaker's wider, yet still limited, release expected later this year.
Meanwhile, the "Total Dollars Spent" chart is proof that Nike's cancelation of the "Chicago" Air Jordan 1's online release caused a huge boom in after-market demand. Sitting comfortably with a total of $707,081 spent from April 1 to June 31, the "Chicago" 1s are in a class of their own.
Back in Quarter 1 of 2015, the adidas Yeezy 750 Boost was actually the second most valuable sneaker on the resell market behind the "Tianjin" Nike Air Foamposite Ones.
