The Ewing 33 High retro has already seen collabs from the likes of atmos and Concepts, but now New Jersey's Packer Shoes is getting a crack at the high top, and they're getting some help from a few friends in high places.
Packer and Ewing Athletics have linked with artists Fabolous and Teyana Taylor for a two sneaker collection paying tribute to Patrick Ewing's deep-rooted connection to NYC. The "Aloysius" Fame & War project uses the 33 High as its base and features some of the craziest materials and details we've seen on this '90s classic.
First up is Fab's take on the 33 High, known as the "War" edition. It's inspired by Ewing's relentless presence in the paint as one of the '90's most feared big men, and also ties back to Pat's native country, Jamaica through its "Ewing Defence Regiment" detailing. The "War" 33 High is composed of a black leather base, which is said to be the highest quality full grain leather ever used in the Ewing Athletics factory. The premium pair is finished off with special "OG" dubraes that will be available only at the S.O.B.'s NYC release.
Meanwhile, Taylor's version, the "Fame" 33 High, opts for an all-gold upper that also uses the same high quality leather. This pair takes its inspiration from Ewing's time spent under the bright lights of NYC and features "Ewing Empire" branding. The plated ankle strap is also featured on this pair, and it comes complete with special "VII" dubraes at the initial launch.
The "Fame & War Project" releases March 26 at $150 per pair, and will be available exclusively at S.O.B.'s NYC with lineups starting at 10AM.
