It doesn’t take a genius to realize that Retros are what the sneaker industry is built on right now. From retro Jordans, to retro runners in every collaboration, everyone’s looking for a piece of the past. Sure, every season there’s a runaway hit like adidas’ ZX Flux, or a new Flyknit, but as style replaces the need for perfect performance, it’s the tried and true looks that get the attention.
Today’s Kicks of the Day are from adidas’ archive. The Top Ten is one of the most recognizable silhouettes to old school sneakerheads. One of the biggest hits of the 80s, the Top Ten dominated the streets for years before fading into obscurity. The silhouette was brought back this year, to much fanfare, including the pair we’re highlighting today.
This Top Ten Hi features a leather upper that’s mostly white, with red adidas stripes, Top Ten branding, and heel wraps. More Top Ten branding on the tongue features blue and red print, and a natural suede panel wraps around the very front of the toe.
