Did Y-3 Turn the Qasa Into an Instapump Fury?

Reebok and adidas are the same company, but did adidas borrow heavy from one of Reebok's O.G. designs for its latest high-end runner.

In what could be the highest profile sneaker of the adidas and Reebok partnership, Y-3 is slated to release a "new" silhouette that bears a strong resemblance to Reebok's Instapump Fury.

You'll get little argument from sneakerheads about the Reebok Pump Fury being ahead of its time. Initially released in bold colorways with Instapump technology, the shoe quickly became a hit and developed a loyal, cult following. This year, Reebok celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Fury with a plethora of collaborations with some of the world's most notable sneaker boutiques.

In 2015, it appears Y-3 is paying homage to the Fury with this possible release, which was previewed via known sample king Sneakergaga's Instagram account. The sample featured is done in a basic "Black/White" color story with images also showing Y-3 branding on the upper and outsole along with the signature Yohji Yamamoto mark on the lateral midsole. Most notably, this new Qasa has a laceless, slip-on upper and a split midsole, just like the Instapump. That's where the two sneakers draw the most similar comparison.

Could this be the new Qasa? Possibly. But one thing's for sure, Y-3 and Fury fans definitely have something to look forward to in the new year.
