Brooks, a 100-year-old footwear company that has made a name for itself in the performance running category, collaborates with Concepts for its first-ever sneaker collaboration. The nickname of the project is "Merlot" and takes inspiration from Brooks' home state of Washington, which is widely known as one of the largest producers of Merlot grapes and wine.
Using Brooks' signature Chariot model, the "Merlot" is uniquely color-blocked to represent the process of turning grapes into wine. Starting at the heel counter and wrapping around parts of the side is a deep purple suede, while the mid-foot region, including the tongue and Brooks logo, is covered in blue. Finishing off the design is a rich burgundy toebox, representing the typical color of red wine. Underneath this three-color upper is a contrasting solid white midsole to balance it all out.
