Nathan VanHook, the Nike designer who worked with Kanye West on the Air Yeezy II and current design director for Nike's Training category, has an all-new sneaker coming out.
Officially unveiled today, the Nike Zoom HyperCross is a training sneaker that focuses on superior cushioning. Designed with an athlete's power and intensity in mind, the HyperCross features hexagonal Nike Zoom Air support on its outsole—the same technology incorporated on the LeBron 12.
Instead of focusing on the heel, the new technology provides maximum cushioning on the forefoot, which is especially beneficial for athletes who spend most of their time on the balls of their feet, pivoting and moving in short bursts.
"With hexagonal Nike Zoom Air, we have been able to make a really lightweight training shoe that has great Zoom responsiveness in the forefoot with a level of flexibility that we just haven't seen before," said VanHook.
The sneaker is finished off with a mesh upper, synthetic leather overlays, and Dynamic Flywire.
Look for the Nike Zoom HyperCross to be available in a "Volt" colorway starting October 10 on Nike.com and at select retailers.
