Originally released back in 1993, the adidas Mutombo made a triumphant return to the sneaker scene last year. With its re-emergence came a refreshing onslaught of releases that waved their fingers at any and all of their retail competitors. Designed with African-inspired elements that pay homage to Mutombo's homeland of Zaire, this model embodied everything the Defensive minded legend was all about. Though it took the folks over at Three Stripes quite some time to breathe new life into the line, this nostalgic release revitalized Mutombo's retail popularity.
