Jerry Seinfeld is, arguably, TV's biggest sneakerhead ever. During his eponymous sitcom that ran from 1989-1998, he wore tons of OG Nike and Air Jordan heat. But not too many people actually know about how Seinfeld got into sneakers--until now. Even though Seinfeld always wore sneakers with bright accents, his sneakers were primarily white.

Recently, Seinfeld did an AMA on Reddit and was asked, "Can you tell us how your white sneaker collection first started?"

Seinfeld responded:

"It started with wanting to be Joe Namath of the 1969 New York Jets, who at that time was one of the only football players to wear white shoes. And I wanted to be like him, so I always wore white sneakers. Also, Bill Cosby on I SPY always wore white sneakers. And they were my fashion icons."

Looks like he got his inspiration from some pretty dapper dudes.
