As the 2013/14 NBA season draws near, Jordan Brand today announced that the next signature shoe for Chris Paul, the CP3.VII will be available at retailers starting October 5.

The seventh Chris Paul signature to date, the CP3.VII draws inspiration from East LA, as well as the 80s era that CP grew up in. Like Paul himself, the shoe is all about speed—hence the Nike Zoom technology underfoot, dynamic Flywire on the upper, and the herringbone pattern on the outsole for quick multidirectional movements.

“This shoe was made for speed and flight,” said Paul. “It’s a great feeling when I’m out there to know I’ve got the technical support to do what I need to do. The designers at Jordan really know my style of play and continue to make products that elevates my quickness on the court.”

In hopes of making the next installmet of the CP3 series more responsive than ever before, Jordan Brand has made the switch from Podulon to Podulite (which is lighter yet offers similar cushioning and support). To ensure Paul doesn’t run right out of his shoes, the CP3.VII features a synthetic heel stirrup that wraps around the back of the heel and integrates with the laces for the ultimate lockdown fit.

The CP3.VII will be on NIKEiD starting October 21, marking the first time a Chris Paul signature shoe will be available for customization.
