Last week, Roger Federer celebrated his birthday, and now he'll be hoping to do more celebrating in the 2013 ATP Western & Southern Open. Yesterday, he met Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round and was able to defeat him in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(7). The match lasted an hour and 26 minutes and Federer was able to push through a shaky Second Set to pick up the win.

Federer has now advanced to the Round of 16, which will take place on Thursday. Earlier this week, he spoke with Telegraph about moving on fro his recent losses: “I was ready to get over the Wimbledon loss as quick as I could, which I did. I took a short break, started practising extremely hard and things were great – I tested rackets and was ready to go to Hamburg and Gstaad, but I couldn’t enjoy those tournaments in the end because I just had too many problems with my back and my body.”

Of course, the Maestro was laced in the Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour. This model utilizes Dynamic Fit technology which wraps around the midfoot and arch from underneath for a lockdown fit and responsive Zoom Air cushioning for a low-profile court feel. Pick them up today for $130.
