When it comes to sports, it's difficult to classify a player as "the best." Aside from maybe this guy, there will always be varying opinions on the subject. Turn the debate to baseball pitchers and you're bound to enter into an even more heated, varying argument. But if the topic at hand is recent history, Roger Clemens is certainly a respectable choice. Along with Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddux, and Randy Johnson, Clemens is in a class of his own. Although the tail-end of his career was marred with steroid allegations (Clemens was found not guilty in court), there's no denying that "The Rocket" had one of the best arms in the game.
Roger Clemens began his career with the Boston Red Sox, where he played for twelve years from 1984-1996. Following the '96 season, Boston failed to resign The Rocket, and he packed his bags for Toronto after inking a $40 million deal. Of course, this meant that Clemens would eventually be on the mound for the Blue Jays, staring down his former teammates in the batter's box. The first meeting took place on July 12, 1997. Clemens went straight to work on the Red Sox, striking out 16 batters as Toronto charged to a 3-1 win.
Over the years, The Rocket wore cleats from a number of different brands, including Puma, adidas, and Reebok. During this period of his career, Clemens took the mound in Reeboks, often donning a royal blue colorway during his time with Toronto.
