If TV depicts real life then women are finally getting one. For years, women have suffered through basic roles and even more basic plot lines In Hollywood. We've been the sisters, the wives, and the secretaries but never ourselves. Finally, though, things are changing.

Today we find ourselves in the midst of a feminist (TV) revolution. From Netflix's Orange is the New Black to Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale we're now watching women who resemble us—female characters with problems, thoughts, and ideals similar to our own. We're watching women talk about sex, job promotions, and periods.

One streaming service that is giving women particularly interesting roles is go90. From Relationship Status to t@gged to Lost Generation, they've introduced viewers to a new generation of women characters who are multifaceted and real. Not to mention go90 just brought back Veronica Mars, a show that was refreshingly female empowered for the early 2000s. As TV and streaming programming continues to evolve we're seeing more career struggles than cat fights and more women in non-traditional roles like DJs instead of secretaries. Let's just say they're finally showing that women, too, like to get into trouble.
