The Rock Teases Surprise Movie With Apple Releasing Monday

The product placement is in full swing, as Dwayne Johnson teams up with Apple's talking assistant Siri for a new movie project.

After spending the majority of the summer promoting BallersBaywatch and his Under Armour projects, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s latest collaboration appears to be with Apple’s intelligent personal assistant, Siri.

Johnson took to Instagram to announce what seems to be a film project with Apple entitled Dominate The Day.

“I partnered with Apple to make the biggest, coolest, sexiest, craziest, dopest, most over the top, funnest (is that even a word?) movie ever made,” Johnson wrote in an Instagram caption showing a poster for the upcoming project. “And I have the greatest co-star of all time, Siri. I make movies for the world to enjoy and we also made this one to motivate you to get out there and get the job done. I want you to watch it, have fun with it and then go live it.”

The announcement comes on the heels of another batch of annual leaks and rumors about Apple’s upcoming iPhone—in this case, the iPhone 8.

Siri has been a mainstay on many Apple devices since being incorporated into beta versions of iOS 5 with the iPhone 4S in September of 2011. In a not so subtle stroke of product placement, Johnson can clearly be seen holding an iPhone in the promotional post, while Siri is billed as an official co-star.

In 2013, Susan Bennett confirmed she provided the original American voice of Siri. Jon Briggs supplied the British version, but it is unclear who will voice the part of Siri alongside Johnson for Monday’s release.

You can view the project Monday, July 24 via Apple’s official YouTube channel.
