The first season of NBC’s riveting series Shades of Blue had just about everything you’d want from a gritty police drama: dirty cops, even dirtier money, heists gone wrong, betrayal, murder, and an ever growing web of deception—not to mention a large body count. But despite how suspenseful the first season was, season two somehow manages to raise the stakes even further.
The show stars Jennifer Lopez as street-smart NY detective Harlee Santos, who is caught between her crooked lieutenant Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta), who’s always been like family to her, and a vengeful FBI agent who caught Harlee taking a bribe and has now flipped her into working for the feds—or so he thinks. But nothing is quite so simple in a world where everyone has secrets and no one ever gets off clean. As season two kicks off, Harlee is knee deep in covering up the fact that she killed her abusive ex (yep), while Woz attempts to make a deal with the FBI to stay out of jail. Despite their long history, Harlee and Woz are soon going to learn a very painful lesson: every betrayal begins with trust.
