We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to alert you to a new trailer for The Fate of the Furious. The hotly anticipated sequel, formerly known as Fast 8, hits theaters on Apr. 14. Here are some things you will see in the latest glimpse at director F. Gary Gray's take on the massive Fast and Furious franchise:

  • The Rock narrowly missing an explosion
  • Vin Diesel turning his back on family
  • Charlize Theron fucking up traffic
  • copious speed
  • copious fury

During an interview with Collider last January, Gray cited J.J. Abrams as an influence on his directing style for the follow-up to Furious 7. "When you look at someone like J.J. Abrams who gives you the spectacle and great action set pieces but also gives you character and plotting and narrative, I think it's my job—and my intention—to do both," Gray said. "You amp up everything, you work on the performances, you work on the story, you work on the action; it's just not one thing."

In December, Universal bagged the largest trailer debut ever with the first Fate of the Furious glimpse. According toDeadline, the first Fate trailer hit 139 million views during its first 24 hours. That haul was strong enough to topple the previous record holder, Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
