Netflix announced the release date for a pair of previously unseen Dave Chappelle stand-up specials earlier this month with a 30-second teaser showing the comedian in a ponderous state of mind. The clip gave us a date—March 21—but offered zero footage of Chappelle onstage. On Tuesday, Netflix fixed that problem by dropping a one-minute glimpse at both straight-from-the-vault specials.

"I've been gone for a very long time," Chappelle says in the new A Tribe Called Quest-soundtracked trailer for what Netflix is billing as "two cities, one event." The previously vaulted specials, filmed in Los Angeles and Austin, also see Chappelle riffing on everything from ISIS to O.J. Simpson.

Over the weekend, Chappelle hit Toronto for the Canadian Screen Awards and joinedCBC News for discussion on Trump's impact on the current state of comedy. "I think Trump's kind of bad for comedy," Chappelle said. Comics in the U.S., Chappelle explained, have started running through similar jokes because Trump is constantly on everyone's mind. "So it'll be nice when we don't have to talk about him as much," he said.

Netflix has released a plethora of stand-up specials in recent months, including Amy Schumer's The Leather Special and Mike Birbiglia's (seriously excellent) Thank God for Jokes. Chappelle's trio of specials, Netflix said, is "now more than ever" an essential release. "Dave's three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix," Netflix VP of Original Documentary and Comedy Lisa Nishimura said in a press release. The third Chappelle special is expected before year's end.
