Shia LaBeouf was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment following an alleged altercation with a fellow protestor at his anti-Trump protest in New York City early Thursday morning. LaBeouf announced that he would be protesting President Donald Trump for the next four years outside of NYC’s Museum of the Moving Image with an exhibit called "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US" just hours before Trump's inauguration last Friday.

According to the New York Police Department, LaBeouf and a 25-year-old man were involved in a verbal altercation in front of the museum on Thursday. During the incident, LaBeouf allegedly pulled on the man’s scarf and scratched his face. He also allegedly pushed the man, who did not require medical attention after the altercation. That led to police stepping in and placing LaBeouf under arrest.

LaBeouf’s arrest was captured on video thanks to the 24-hour livestream that he set up as part of his "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US" protest. According to TMZ, the altercation between him and the other protestor started after the man stepped in front of the camera that is being used for the livestream and said something LaBeouf didn’t like.

The #HeWillNotDivideUs Twitter account posted a short clip that appears to show the very brief encounter between LaBeouf and the man. In it, the man says, "Hitler did nothing wrong," before LaBeouf pushes him and walks away.

LaBeouf was released a short time after being arrested. He returned to the Moving Image shortly after to resume his participation in the protest:
