Universal is saying yes to Little America, a so-called "sci-fun" movie centered on a dystopian U.S. in dire straits after a Trump-esque president leaves the nation completely bankrupt. Fittingly, the Hollywood Reporterconfirms that Little America will be produced by the guy responsible for both Armageddon and The Rock, Michael Bay.

Little America predicts such a president will bankrupt the States to the point of China calling in its alleged debts. With the nation in turmoil, many Americans start moving to China for work. An American Force Recon member is eventually hired by a Chinese billionaire to rescue his daughter from "an American ghetto," with sources telling THR the vibe of this whole thing is similar to the Kurt Russell mega classic Escape From New York.

Bay will next be seen doing the whole Michael Bay thing in this June's Transformers: The Last Knight, starring Mark Wahlberg and the legend Stanley Tucci. "Transformers, I still have a great time," Bay toldRolling Stone last year ahead of the release of 13 Hours. "It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else."

But Little America isn't the only post-truth project on the horizon. ABC recently gave a cast-contingent pilot commitment to the tentatively titled City Mayor Project, written and executive produced by former Late Night writer Jeremy Bronson. The series centers on a struggling hip-hop artist who runs for public office just so people will notice his mixtape, then accidentally wins that shit. According to Deadline, the potential series will also be produced by Hamilton's Daveed Diggs.
