'Blade Runner 2049' Teaser Gives Us Our First Glimpse of Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford

Blade Runner 2049 is still nearly a year away from release, but why not go ahead and obsess over this fresh teaser? The first look at Denis Villeneuve's sequel to the 1982 Ridley Scott classic gives us a proper early glimpse at Ryan Gosling's character, apparently named K, and even sneaks in a quick Harrison Ford appearance.​

This teaser, dubbed an "announcement" clip by the studio, isn't exactly generous with the plot deets. A new synopsis from Alcon Entertainment, however, gets a bit more specific:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

The OG Blade Runner is a confirmed sci-fi classic, even landing the crucial President Barack Obama co-sign earlier this year. During his guest-edit of Wired back in November, Obama explained the importance of what is arguably Scott's finest hour. "It asks what it means to be human," Obama said
